Process
You always know what happens next
Three phases in a fixed order. Here is every step, what I need from you at each one, and roughly how long it sits with each of us
Phase 1 of 3
Start
About an hour of your time, total
Kickoff call
30 minutes
Thirty minutes. What you sell, who books you, and what you want people to do when they land
What I need from you
Half an hour, and a rough idea of who you want
Sending me what you have
A few days
Photos, pricing, bio. Whatever you already have, and I will tell you what is missing
What I need from you
Photos, prices, anything already written
First draft of the words
Three to four days
I write the whole site as plain text before anything gets designed. You tell me where I got your voice wrong
What I need from you
A read, and honesty about what is not you
Phase 2 of 3
Build
You look at a real site, not a picture of one
Design and build
One to two weeks
The real thing, on a link you can open on your phone. No mockups, nothing you have to imagine
What I need from you
Nothing. This week is mine
Two rounds of changes
Two to three days
Send a list, I work through it, you look again. Then once more
What I need from you
Two lists, and permission to be blunt
Phase 3 of 3
Launch
You get the logins, and the domain is in your name
Testing
A day
Real phones, every browser, every link. I submit your form myself and watch the email land
What I need from you
Nothing. Try to break it if you like
Launch
Same day
I point your domain and submit the sitemap so Google can find you
What I need from you
Buying the domain, which I walk you through
Two weeks of free fixes
Two weeks
Anything broken, I fix it. No invoice, no argument
What I need from you
Telling me when you spot something
What testing looks like
The same site, on whatever she happens to be holding

Desktop

Tablet

Phone
One site, three widths, no separate mobile version. I check these by hand on real devices before anything launches
Worth knowing
Three things nobody puts on a process page
That is all 8 steps. What is left is the part that decides how long it actually takes
What actually slows a build down
Almost never the building. It is waiting on photos. Send everything in the first week and the whole thing takes two to four weeks
What counts as a round of changes
One list, however long. Move that up, cut that, use the other photo. All of it is one round
After the two free weeks
Nothing switches off and nothing starts billing. When you want a change, email me and I quote it before I touch anything
Start a project
Ready to start at step one
The kickoff call is thirty minutes and costs nothing. Send me the form and I will find a time that works
What happens after you send it
- It lands in my inbox, not an assistant and not a shared account
- You get a real reply within one business day, even if the answer is no
- If it looks like a fit, we book a thirty minute call. No slide deck
